MAKING AN ORDER
I always make plans to prepare simple food at home, but sometimes life gets in the way. As there was an unexpected meeting to prepare for, I thought it’s best to use the opportunity to check out a new health food delivery service.

I made payment for my order a little before midnight and I’m happy that Chopstick Diner is able to accommodate my late order and to a location out of their delivery area. Although I think the meal s reasonably priced at RM 15, unfortunately delivery to a certain area in Petaling Jaya is RM 10. That’s 1/3 of the price of my meal. In total, my lunch cost RM 25.

WHAT I ORDERED: HALF HALF (RM 15)

I like that Chopstick Diner allows me to choose two different menu in one meal. While I do eat healthy, I’m not a big fan of salad (I prefer my vegetables lightly cooked). This option includes four Vietnamese Spring Rolls and with a salad of my choice. I chose smoked salmon caesar salad.

SMOKED SALMON CAESAR SALAD

What is it? Slivers of smoked salmon on a bed of crispy lettuce, parmesan shavings and crunchy croutons. Like its sister salad, a delightful egg sits on top of it all.

Ingredients: Lettuce, parmesan cheese, croutons, egg, smoked salmon and salad dressing.

Taste: The croutons and lettuce give this salad crunch, an egg to fill me up and a homemade sauce that mix all the flavour together. It taste pretty good, just like how fresh ingredients should be!

Thoughts: I’m so glad I chose this half half option so I have a little salad and something more substantial (Vietnamese Spring Roll). Though, I wish there’s an extra piece of yummy smoked salmon… (The whole set comes with three slices)

VIETNAMESE SPRING ROLLS

What is it? Red, Purple, green vegetables all wrapped in rice paper with tender pieces of chicken and strands of rice noodles.

Ingredients: Capsicum, purple cabbage, basil, rice noodles (meehoon), chicken, rice paper and spicy sauce

Taste: I like the tightly wrapped and colourful spring rolls, though I know others might think it’s too bland (I believe in under seasoning, so to allow people to adjust the level of saltiness to their liking). That’s when the tasty spicy sauce comes in. I see slices of chili in it but it’s not too hot and with a tinge of sweetness.

Thoughts: This reminds me how I have to stuff eight pieces of spring rolls from Healthy Ever After at dinner. Again I’m glad this set gives me a variety.
