Easy Traditional Guacamole (3 ingredients, 3 minutes)

Guacamole is an avocado based sauce that originates from Aztec, Mexico. There are many variation to it; ingredients like onions, garlic and tomato are commonly added. But today we’ll show you the traditional way which happens to be the simplest method.

At JewelPie, we don’t claim that our recipes are the best. But we can say that they’re among the easiest you can find. In this recipe, we’re only going to blend the avocado seasoned with salt and pepper.

It’s almost embarrassing how easy this recipe is. Thankfully we found out that it’s made the same way in a five star resort in Bali.

Study shows that avocado helps lower cholesterol level and potentially lower the risk of diabetes. Avocado has 35% more potassium than bananas. It is a rich in vitamin K and is a good source of vitamin B6, vitamin C and vitamin E. It is also has a high fibre content (Source: Wikipedia).

> Salt x 1/4 tsp

1. Cut avocado into half, twist it, remove the pit.
2. Scoop the flesh of avocado and put into a blender.
3. Season avocado with black pepper and salt.
4. Blend avocado until mushy.

For those with Asian palate, eating this dip needs a bit of mental adjustment. The taste of avocado in itself is rather mild. Having been used to strong and flavourful condiment like sambal belacan, don’t expect a lot of taste from it.

However, we’re always happy to know that every bite nourishes our body with the goodness of avocado. In that vein, paying a little more for this superfood is worth it.
