7 Groceries That Stock Gluten-Free Food

What does gluten-free means? It is a food or a diet that does not contain gluten, a general name for the proteins normally found in barley, rye, wheat, and triticale. Gluten is intended to maintain the shape of the food, acting as a glue that holds food together. Not everyone is tolerant of gluten, like those who suffer from celiac disease.

Though it seems daunting to cut out gluten from your diet as they’re found in a lot of food products, thanks to the rise of organic and health food trend in Malaysia, they can be found in regular grocery stores.

You may want to start off with these naturally gluten-free food groups: beans, legumes, nuts, dairy, seafood, meat, poultry, vegetables and fruits.Take note that ‘wheat-free’ does not necessarily mean ‘gluten-free’. As a rule of thumb, traditional wheat products such as pastas, breads, crackers, and other baked goods are NOT gluten-free.
