5 decor tips from a mediterranean restaurant, Mediteca

Mediteca is a Mediterranean fine dining restaurant in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, just minutes away from KLCC. Their rustic design with high ceiling, wooden furniture, pearl lights and jazz music make the restaurant warm and relaxing.


Mediteca showed us how to create a beautiful interior that promotes cosy and stylish dining, without compromising on the environment for style. Many of their smart suggestions can be incorporated in your home.


1. Oil and vinegar in spray bottle
Each table at Mediteca is furnished with a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. These healthy Mediterranean seasoning are placed in spray bottle instead of regular ones to avoid wastage.


2. Arranging lids using a stand
Remember how we arranged chopping boards with a plate separator? If you have a lot of pots and pans, it can be used to organise lids that comes with them to.

Mediteca very particular about organising their kitchen to ensure cooking is done smoothly. This is especially when they practice an open kitchen concept.


3. Invest in fresh flowers weekly to decorate the dining table
Each week, Mediteca would buy a bunch of fresh flowers to decorate every table. To keep the flowers fresh and beautiful, they would trim the bottom of the stalk everyday. At the end of the week, the flowers would be on a shorter vase.

4. Serve water in glass bottle
Once customers are seated, Mediteca greets them with a glass of water. These water are kept in beautiful glass jars.

5. Display herbs and other ingredients in glass jar
Mediteca has an open kitchen concept, in which you can see the chef cook if you want to. At their kitchen, food and herbs like bay leafs are displayed in airtight container.
