Humanity has had a hit and miss relationship with cats since time immemorial; in some cultures they’re even seen as bad luck hence is avoided like the plague. These days however, it looks like cats have finally gained the status they deserve. The internet is crazy for them (just look at all the videos and memes about cats shared on social media!)

1. CATS Cafe JB
This is the first cat cafe in Johor Bahru and Johor. Aside from its adorable in-house furry residents and mouth-watering menu on offer, the cafe has an impressive interior designed to cater to both cats and cat lovers so that they could mingle with each other comfortably. It’s truly a sanctuary.

2. Purrfect CAT CAFE, Penang 
The cafe is a two-storey building and the ground floor is a retail store selling all things cat-related. The second floor is where the fun begins. However, you’ll be briefed on ‘house rules’ before slipping off your shoes and heading on upstairs. There are around nine to follow and they’re there to ensure the well-being of the cats.

3. Purradise Cat Cafe, TTDI
Purradise Cat Café is a social enterprise with an aim to support and improve animal welfare and their holistic wellbeing. The cafe’s ultimate goal is to foster rescue cats and socialize them to a loving environment before finding them their homes. The cafe also operates within a self-sustaining business model, where proceeds from the café will be reinvested into supporting pet fostering and re-homing initiatives.

5. The Country Cat Cafe, PD
The Country Cat Cafe is the first & largest cat cafe in Malaysia, as awarded by Malaysia Book Of Records. It has a Mykad entry fee of RM20 for adult and RM15 for children, senior citizen & disabled. Most of the cats are rescued from the streets.
