If there is one kitchen equipment I can’t live without, it would be my trusty juicer. Fresh juice blends are oh-so-delicious and a wonderful way to start your morning on a nutritious note.
FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND MORE
I like to have a balance of both fruit and vegetables. Don’t worry, you wouldn’t taste the spinach or broccoli in your glass. During those heavy lifting days at the gym, I will also add a scoop of protein powder. You can also add a sprinkle of whey for extra fibre.
One of my favourite blends has only three ingredients: half a beetroot, one carrot, and a green apple. This concoction is perfect for those who are anaemic and have high blood pressure as beets contain high levels of nitrate which increases the oxygen levels in our body.
HOW TO SERVE
The gorgeous deep purple hue displays a royal freshness of the produce that went into it hence it is best served in a wine glass. This juice is sweet from the beetroot and refreshing – perfect to enjoy upon awakening or after a workout. Add some sparkling ice cubes for a cooler drink.
