JewelPie: Building A Home Bar

Ever since making a video on how to make mojito like a bartender, we’re fascinated by the art of mixing cocktail. It’s not as difficult and mysterious as it was before.

We’re thinking of building a basic bar at home and had been doing some research on the minimum things that we need. Here is a visual plan.

JewelPie: Bar Tools

Barware: Jigger, bar spoon, muddler, opener, cocktail shaker and strainer are the basic tools most books and website recommend. But we’re figuring out the minimum tools for now. Perhaps, instead of a jigger and bar spoon, we’ll make do with measuring spoons and long handle spoon.

JewelPie: Liquor

Liquor: There are many different recommendation on the few basic liquor to start with. The few bottles must be the key ingredient to many cocktails and also good on it’s own. We think it should centre around cocktails you like e e.g rum is a must because we love mojito. We will probably start with vodka, rum, whiskey and gin.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

JewelPie: Glassware

Glassware: The three type of glasses needed are short glasses, tall glasses and stem glasses.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

JewelPie: mixers

Mixers: Club soda, tonic water, ginger ale, simple syrup, sprite and coke are common mixers.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………JewelPie: Trolley & Trays

Tray or trolley: We’re contemplating to dedicate a corner in the living room to our portable mini bar on a trolley. A huge tray assembled with liquor and tools on a table could also do the trick.

Do you have a bar at home? Do you have any recommendation for us?
